Day 27: Don’t wait!

    40 days of discipleship logo

    Ask questions

The DNA of Discipleship: Nurturing Relationships 1

“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

    Mark 10:51

If you are doing these 40 days but are having trouble finding meaningful fellowship where you live, then learn to ask more questions. At times we may feel we have no one who cares about us. We may visit a church that feels cold or unfriendly. We may enter and leave and no one greets us. No one seems to care or they are too busy talking to their friends. We may find a small group but it takes time to feel at home.

One thing we can do is ask people more questions. Listen to their story. Find out how they are unique. Look for common experiences. Be open to learn about anything you can from their lives.

Asking good questions is an art that comes by practice. If we persevere we will find others who want to grow and we can encourage each other. Sometimes the right question is more important than the right answer.

    For Reflection:

    • Why did Jesus ask the man what he wanted?
    • How would you answer Jesus’ question?

    Make Life Count:

    • Go for a walk and answer the question that Jesus asks “What do you want me to do for you?”
    • You may wish to share your question for Jesus with us.

    Share your question

    Hungry for More?

    • Think of five questions you could ask people and write them with your question.

    Tell us what happened

    Let’s keep asking questions…
