Day 13: Keep your eyes open!

    Look for the unexpected

The DNA of Discipleship: Divine Truth 1

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

    2 Corinthians 5:17

Look around for something unexpected: a new opportunity, a new desire, a new ability, a new connection, a new possibility, a new understanding or a new relationship. The old is gone! He is making all things new. What does that look like? What new patterns do you see? What are you doing with these patterns?
Something may still look the same, but perhaps you can understand it in a new way? Life is difficult and sometimes downright painful. Where is God doing something new inside of the old? How can you pray differently? Are thoughts from your Scripture reading giving you new understanding in these situations? What might be invisible to the human eye, that you suspect that God is doing? How do we find out about that? Who can you discuss this with?

    For Reflection:

    • In what way does God make things new?
    • Why might it be difficult to recognize the new?

    Make Life Count:

    • Open the Bible and look at the index. Check off the books you have read or circle a few that you would like to read. Keep this in mind when you need to choose the next book of the Bible you will read.
    • Do you have a story of something unexpected where God is helping you learn?

    Tell us here

    Hungry for More?

    • Memorize 2 Corinthians 5:17 and consider how Christ is changing your life.

    Go to verse

    Looking for the unexpected…
