Day 17: Ready for change?

    Do something to learn

The DNA of Discipleship: Divine Truth 2

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

    James 1:22

Practice doing something with what you learn. Experience helps cement the truth and gives great satisfaction to the learning. This seems obvious but the more we can actively use what we are learning, the more encouraging and real it will become. We are to be doers of the Word and not just hearers. We don’t earn favor by putting truth into practice but we gain the benefit of seeing the truth function according to its intended purposes. While our experience may be incomplete practice steps, it serves to get us moving in the right direction. If we combine this practice with reflection, bringing the experience back to the Scriptures, it is truly transformative. Learning becomes a journey that is purposeful and satisfying.

    For Reflection:

    • What are you doing with what you are learning each day?
    • What new experiences do you think God has prepared for you?

    Make Life Count:

    • What action steps you have found most helpful or suggestions that could be helpful for others who do this series.
    • What has been most helpful so far in the series. How can we improve?

    Tell us

    Hungry for More?

    • A giant step is to start to care for others and how they are growing. Write down three or four names of people you care for and begin to pray for them.
    • The YouVersion App has a place to make a list for personal or shared prayer items.
