The DNA of Discipleship: Nurturing Relationships 1
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
2 Peter 3:18
Just as the DNA carries the genetic code in our bodies so that cells grow and reproduce, so we can think of steps which help give a blueprint for growth in discipleship. In the DNA of discipleship:
The D stands for Divine truth from reading the Scriptures. We can daily practice 7 minutes with God, as a way to begin.
The N stands for Nurturing relationships. In community we nurture through asking questions and listening to each other.
- How have you perceived the presence of God this week?
- How have you responded?
- What risks have you taken by faith?
- What are you learning?
- How can we help?
Meet with others to discuss these questions and the daily Scripture readings then help each other take action. Make notes of what stands out to you so you can use it in your discussion. The A stands for Advancing the mission which we will look at later.
