Examine yourself
The DNA of Discipleship: Nurturing Relationships 1
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
2 Corinthians 13:5
Check your progress on how you have been going so far. It can be helpful to know how frequently you are engaging the Scriptures. Try varying the time, frequency and Scripture passages and observe what happens. (Remember D for Divine truth.)
The questions to develop Nurturing relationships are:
- How have you perceived the presence of God this week?
- How have you responded?
- What risks have you taken by faith?
- What are you learning?
- How can we be of help?
Try using these questions with someone this week. (Remember N for Nurturing relationships.)
Have you been praying daily for laborers? The alarm on the cellphone reminds you to pause for a few seconds and to ask God for laborers. Have you noticed anything happening because you are praying what Jesus indicated? (Remember A for Advancing the mission.)
We would love to hear from you what is happening.
For Reflection:
- What does the DNA of discipleship stand for?
- Is this a helpful pattern to use?
Make Life Count:
- Sit in silence for a few minutes and ask Jesus to examine your heart concerning learning from His Scriptures, the relationships that nurture you and your prayer for labourers for the harvest. What do you sense Him saying?
- What part of the DNA do you best understand and where do you have questions?
Hungry for More?
- Draw a timeline of your life illustrating the risks you have taken. How have these turned out? What have you learned?
Let’s keep risking by faith,
