See Christ as the Center
The DNA of Discipleship: Divine Truth 2
Let us acknowledge the Lord;
Hosea 6:3
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.
Jesus Christ is to be the center of our attention. He is to be the “hub of the wheel” of our lives and we cannot expect to go far in our Christian life without the power and stability that the hub provides. As the Apostle Paul reminds us, “it is no longer we who live but Christ who lives in us, and the new life we live, we live by faith in the Son of God who loves us and gave Himself for us.”
And so we need to be careful that the activities in our discipleship do not replace Jesus as of prime importance. We need constant reminding to keep our focus on Jesus and not just the training wheels as we practice.
For Reflection:
- When have some habits distracted your attention from Jesus?
- When have they helped?
Make Life Count:
- Thank God that He is as faithful as the sunrise even when we are not faithful.
- What helps or hinders Christ being central to you?
